I don’t know if the clippers are actually bad, but from where I purchased (hairproducts. com) the product was garbage. It makes more noise than a tractor and is very very heavy. For self users I would not recommend this.

I am currently working in Iraq and wanted to get a good, reliable set of hair clippers that I can use to maintain my bald head while here. I have had enough with the cheap $15 clippers that break and don’t do a good job of cutting, so I splurged on these clippers which cost me $100. I have been unable to use the clippers at all because they apparently need to be tuned or something. They are incredibly loud, the blades are not centered on one another, and the blades swivel very easily. I am by no means a professional barber so maybe I am missing something here, but for $100 I expect a piece of machinery that is ready to go right out of the box. The instructions told me to tighten a screw on the side of the clippers if they were loud, but that does nothing. I am going to have to send the clippers back home to my brother hoping that he can bring them to a barber for a tuning and return them to me. Way too much hastle for what I paid.

I have own many clipper over the pass 25 years. These are the best for fades hands down, they have blade ajustment on side of clipper that don’t move as your cutting that fade!As for baldheads Oscars are the best on the market with #ooooo blade. . I plan a getting T-Trimmers they seem to be a good product as well. .

I bought this clipper as well as the 7 piece heads to go along with it in an attempt to save time and money from going to the barbers (I only shave my head the same length all around anyways). The shipping was pleasantly faster than expected, and upon opening the box I was greeted with a shiny, heavy, and sturdy-feeling metal clipper. My father insisted on giving me my first haircut with them, and as he began I asked him if they were actually working – they were so quiet, I thought they weren’t cutting the hair. But sure enough this monster ate through my fairly thick hair without a whisper of complaint, and by the time we were done 15 minutes later was only pleasantly warm. I am very pleased with my purchase, and have recieved at or beyond my expectations for this item.
The only thing holding me back from giving it a perfect 5 stars are two trivial yet realistic details: the clipper does not come with a bag or box to be stored in, nor does it come with a brush to clean the hairs out when you are done (though it does come with a small tube of lube).
